When a mother became a nurse, teacher, maid, comforter, jester and a playmate.

Hello there my friends, welcome to my world. Today was a sad day for me because my two lovely American friends went to Brisbane and then will go back to America. They stayed with us for almost three weeks and we had wonderful times together. Their leaving like having your kids going to live in another country- must be a sad event for mums. :(

Anyway, the title of this post pretty-much described my day today. My two lovely sons were still sick so I was serving as a nurse (checking temperature and giving medication). They were so clingy today, and just wanted mummy to cuddle them almost all the time (I think that's how I became a comforter). It was so hard to please sick children, but when I made my silly face with them and acted like a jester- then all smile were back on their faces.  I'm a maid- I guess- because I cooked, did the laundry (thank goodness) and kept the house tidy and clean. We played with a few toys. My point is... motherhood  fills so many roles and is so demanding. It demands time, energy and- most of the time- sacrifice. I'm am so proud to all of the mothers, (including my mother), around the world- most especially to the widows and single mums who make lot of sacrifices to care and to nurture little children. You'll never understand the full extent of motherhood until you be come a mother, whether you give birth to them or by adoption. I know that every sacrifice you make is sacred.

I would like to share with you some of the things we did today. We read some books. Here's our reading;

My Eldest loved Alpha Quest and Babar.

We're still doing math. I know what you're thinking if you're following my blog: we like doing math.

We did fractions.

We used playdough as our model.

Playdough is inexpensive and you can use different colors.

I know that playdough is familiar to you, but just in case you forgot the recipe I made it easy for you.

Play Dough

4 Cups of plain flour
2 Cups of salt
4 Tblspn of cream of tartar
4  Tbslpn of oil
4  Cups of water
Food coloring

Combine dry ingredients. Add water, a cup at a time. Add oil and food coloring. Cook, stir it all the time till it becomes thick. Knead til smooth.

One of the highlights of my day was when my Darling husband brought home some flowers. He said he really appreciated the hardwork that I had done during the time that our Amercian friends stayed with us. I'm happy that he recognised my service at home. I hope all of the men will always remember their women and let their women know how much they appreciate them and love them, by telling them- rather than assume that they, (women), already know.

These are my flowers.

That's it for now. How about you? Did you have a lovely day? I really hope you did. :)
